Amir Khan Retains His Title

"Amir Khan has proved he is the best fighter in his division in the world after the Bolton fighter’s WBA light-welterweight title defence against Marcos Maidana" said by the Promoter Oscar De La Hoya

Boxer Amir Khan was given a collective decision in Las Vegas but had to survive some tough moments.

In the opening round 24-year-old champion dished out plenty of punishment, flooring Maidana with a body shot and with some precisely executed combinations he left opponent with no answer.

De La Hoya said: “Amir Khan proved not only he has a good chin but that he’s the best 140 pounder in the world.

“If there are any doubters after this, come and talk to me.”
