Khan still without opponent

For his 'homecoming' at the MEN in Manchester on April 16,Khan is still seeking for an opponent.

Amir Khan has been accused of of offering a 'derisory' sum to fight unbeaten European champion Paul McCloskey by promoter Barry Hearn.

When American Lamont Peterson priced himself out, Khan is left without any opponent with McCloskey and another unbeaten domestic boxer - John Murray - thrown into the mix.

Hearn immediately rejected by the first deal offered to McCloskey while a second attempt to lure the Northern Irelander has also come to nothing.

"Amir Khan lives in America and wants to earn a living popping over here and underpaying British fighters," said Hearn.

"The deals placed on the table were an insult to Paul, an undefeated fighter and a European champion.

"Amir cannot fight himself, and I'm afraid you have to pay opponents to step in the ring with you, and pay them fairly."
