AMIR KHAN WINS ‘BRITISH BOXER OF THE YEAR 2010’ AWARD
The 'British Boxer of the Year 2010' award has been won by Amir Khan.The highly-recognised weekly publication, Boxing News had announced the award, which is the world’s oldest boxing magazine as it was established to promote Boxing around the globe in 1909.
The second position was occupied by star Carl Froch, commonly known as “The Cobra”, while heavyweight star boxer David Haye was declared as the third boxer of 2010.
WBA light-welterweight title has been defend two times in 2010 by Amir Khan,Winning against Marcos Maidana in December was one of his best fights of the year. This courageous victory over Marcos Maidana was undefeated in 2010.
There has been a massive competition between star Carl Froch and Amir Khan, but the award gone to the person who had the most number of votes.
Finally the vote count named Amir Khan as a next growing British star of 2010. The Pakistan-born British boxer now can be seen in the youngest winners of the prestigious award.
