WBA number six-ranked fighter Lamont Peterson will likely be Amir Khan’s next opponent on April 16 exposed by Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer.
Schaefer told Boxing Fanhouse, ‘Peterson is certainly the front-runner but we just have to see if the monetary terms are going to be such that the Khans are going to go for it.
‘You know, Amir Khan is willing to give Lamont the opportunity, and I am happy that he could get the opportunity.'
Peterson fought on the undercard of Amir Khan vs Maidana, battling Golden Boy prospect Victor Ortiz to a majority draw after being knocked down twice, and only has one loss from 30 fights coming against WBO light-welterweight champ Tim Bradley.
