Khan: ‘I would never fight Manny’
‘I would never fight Manny as we have the same trainers. It’s just an honour to train and spar with him because Manny is one of the best fighters in the world pound-for-pound.’said by the boxer Amir Khan while speaking in the latest issue of SEEN Sport Magazine.
Khan who currently owns WBA title against knockout artist Marcos Maidana on December 11th confirmed that the plan was to unify the division and then move up to fight Floyd Mayweather in a year’s time, claiming that he would succeed where Ricky Hatton failed.
‘Ricky Hatton failed when he fought [Floyd Mayweather] for the pound-for-pound title but I’m sure I can go there and bring that title back to England,’ said Khan.
Boxer upcoming fight with Maidana would be similar to Pacquiao’s junior-middleweight clash with Antonio Margarito earlier this month, with Freddie Roach’s tactics again reigning supreme.
‘Freddie knows exactly what we have to do. Maidana is going to be like Margarito, stood in front of me, and he’s going to take a lot of punishment,’ said Amir Khan.
