Amir Khan not willing to fight with Guzman!!

Amir Khan denies reports that he will be fighting with Guzman in next bout - saying he wants a more credible opponent for his return to the ring on December 15.

"I want someone who is a bit more credible than him," Khan told the Manchester Evening News. "I've come from world title fights and he [Guzman] might be a little below that.

"We're just getting the dates right. It will either be in England or America, December 15 is the date."

"I'll be going to New York to speak to a few coaches and maybe bring in a mentor who can help me in defence," he said. "I'm mainly looking at ex-fighters, Bernard Hopkins, Oscar [De La Hoya] and maybe Shane Mosley, they all want to help out and show their support."

Defence seems to be the key for Khan. In a thinly-veiled dig at Roach he added: "If we had the defence we should have had we would be the best fighter in the world.

"That's the downfall of me and Manny Pacquiao - we're both offensively the best fighters in the world, but defensively we're not the best."

Khan still looking for coach after Gracia Defeat

After a shocking loss against Danny Garcia over the weekend in Las Vegas,Khan has not sit back and still hopeful to appoint a coach.

Khan has been badly pulled down three times en route to being stopped in the fourth round as Garcia retained his WBC light-welterweight title and added the Bolton man's WBA crown to become a unified champion at the Mandalay Bay Events Center.

After a loss khan has not pointed or blamed to any of his entourage - especially trainer Freddie Roach but he thinks that he should start re-looking his setup.

'I'm taking the whole blame in my own hands. It was my own fault,' Khan told Sky Sports News.

'There are a few things we should have not done in training camp that we could have done differently but that's just me and Freddie.

'We'll sit down together, we'll talk through it but I'm the one in the ring, I'm the one who made the mistakes. 'I'm not blaming anyone, I'm the one who's at blame really. My team did a great job outside the boxing ring.'

'I'm going to look at options, I've got a meeting with my team next week and we're just going to see,' Khan added.

'At the moment I'm happy with Freddie but there are a few things that I want to change and I'm going to speak to my team to see how they feel about things and we'll just take it from there.

'I'm going to take my time, think about things, maybe watch the fight a few more times, see where I need to improve on and see if Freddie can improve me in the departments.

'It's a very crucial part of my career. If I am going to pick another I need to be with the right trainer who's going to take me where I want to be and also the mistakes I make, not to make them again.'

Khan explained: “The defining night of this stage in my career is to get Mayweather in a ring with me. I’m not after Mayweather for the pay day, I’m after him for the glory. I want to be the man remembered in history for taking his unbeaten record away, and want that as part of my legacy.

“He has said he’d like to fight in the UK, and it would be brilliant to have the contest in Britain, with 80,000 in a covered stadium.”

“Ortiz is a banger. He’ll be dangerous early on in the fight, but Mayweather will start to pick him apart as the rounds go on. The one thing Ortiz has on his side is that he is younger and he comes in as the champion.

“That could be an eye-opener but I really do think Mayweather will either take the fight easily on points, or stop Ortiz around the 10th round.”

Khan insisted, however, he can learn lessons from the contest. “I’ll be watching closely, but I know I have it in me to beat Mayweather. I will prove any doubter wrong. I will do anything it takes to face him in a ring, even if it means complying with his wishes to fight Jesse Vargas [the unbeaten fighter Floyd promotes first of all] which he is suggesting.”
